Our Story

How it all started...

Waupaca First Assembly began holding services in April, 1945. Located on Maple Street, the congregation grew and continued to worship there until May 31,1970, when the church broke ground and construction began for the new building on Berlin Street. The first worship service in the new building was held on March 21, 1971.

Expanding the vision...

Throughout its history, Waupaca First has strived to be a church that teaches the infallible Word of God and partners in seeing individuals and families impacted by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of His Holy Spirit.  Through the additions of educational and meeting spaces, the vision to provide a program for every age and season of life came to be. Beginning with a prominent Bus Ministry that served the city of Wauapca by providing transportation to church every Sunday Morning, additional programs such as Children's Church, Royal Rangers, Missionettes, and Youth Ministry (at the time known as Christ's Ambassadors) were created to expand the mission to reach the families of Waupaca and surrounding areas for Christ.

Over the last 78 years, the ministry of Waupaca First has touched many lives locally and globally. From the very beginning, our congregation desired to expand the kingdom of God by partnering with and supporting missionaries. Beginning with support of 32 missionaries, Waupaca First has since been able to partner with over 37 missionaries and mission organizations to bring the message of Jesus Christ to various countries and people groups.

Where we are headed...

The mission of Waupaca First is to experience God, embrace His people and engage our community. Our desire is to assist each follower of Christ in finding their mission in life. Through engaging worship, building community, personal evangelism, individual discipleship, and participation in mission, we strive to serve our city of Waupaca and our neighbors in surrounding areas, and witness the impact of the Gospel transform each life. Join us in prayer as we prepare to live out the vision God has placed before us!
